In recent years, the shipping space purchase agreement on east and west trade route was entered by Maersk Line and Hamburg Süd.

Based on the agreement, the voyage of Hamburg Süd on the main route will be increased. The voyages from Asia to Northern Europe will be increased to 5 weekly; the voyages from Asia to western　Mediterranean will be increased to 2 weekly; the voyages from Asia to west of America will be increased to 4; the voyages from Asia to eastern US will be increased to 3 weekly, and the voyages of transatlantic line will also be increased to 2 weekly. Of course, this agreement will formally go into effect on April 1 this year after getting the approval and consent of relevant supervision departments.

It is learned that, the shipping space purchase agreement signed by the two parties has no direct relation with the matter that Maersk acquired Hamburg Süd in December last year, but the purchasing behavior taken by 2M Alliance that Maersk Line is located to try to consolidate its competitiveness on east and west trade route network.

2M Alliance will launch a new Far East-Northern Europe service route having high transport capacity in April this year.
